Read a lot of reviews, handled about a dozen cameras, and solicited advice from all over the internet... and finally made my decision.
To be truthful, it's partly because my cousin has one too and is willing to sell me a few lenses. Now to gear up...

Damn! Nice!
I have a 7D for sale right now in pristine condition!
Cheers!

I also have a cannon eos and love it! Though mine is a lot cheaper and less fancy though I'm not skilled emough at photography at the moment to need a better one.

Oooooh. The 7D is SUPER nice (thought about one for a while), but at the end of the day the 60D did everything I would need on a regular basis and had a decent enough continuous and buffer that I could use it at the races.

I bought my 60D last spring/summer, and I love it. It was half the price of the replacement 70D, and less than half a 7D. Great bargain, and great camera. I currently just shoot with two Canon fixed lenses. A 35mm f/2 and a 50mm f/1.8.

I've heard that 50mm f/1.8 is a great lens, and is pretty cheap. I'm thinking I'll have to pick one up.

Yeah, I like it. I think it's around $115 at B&H.
